Out of love for the bees

We have been hearing for so many years that “the bees are dying”, but we have seen way too few things done about it.

Which is why we decided to take matters into our own hands!

We put our gloves and costumes on and we have literally started helping these amazing little insects.

Beekeeping in an urban area is not that impossible as one might think.

London offers many possibilities on the top of numerous buildings. My family has been taking care of bees ever since I can remember and about five years ago I decided to start sharing our passion with other passionate and caring people.

We must admit, it wasn’t a surprise to see how many people have a soft spot for these little creatures, which is why, now we really want to spread the news nation-wide: bees are friends and we take care of friends!

Our bees

We have established apiaries and managed sites in and around London from Heathrow Airport in the West to London City Airport in the East.

  • We ensure that there is plenty of forage by our hives.
  • We don't import bees.
  • We do not package bees.
  • We only transport bees as full colonies on frames.
  • We only use British bred bees.
  • We only harvest as much honey as we believe can be done without weakening the hive.
  • We intervene as little as possible with the bees.
  • We only feed with sugar syrup in emergencies.
  • We accept swarming as part of the natural life cycle of the colony.
  • We will reduce the chances of swarming but cannot always prevent it.
  • We will collect swarms and give them a home.
  • We use only natural substances to treat mites in the hive.
